You know what I look forward to most after bringing home a new computer, smartphone, tablet, etc. besides opening the package? I love uninstalling most of the software that comes...
Here's a list of all of my posts discussing various high level principles that have helped me achieve the right mindset for effective self-improvement.
Principles are pieces of advice given in the form of ideas or theories to follow that help solve a problem or convey the right mentality to approach a goal. (Tactics, on the other hand, are highly detailed and targeted strategies that only work for very specific types of people or in a very specific set of conditions.) In other words, principles are more like guidelines rather than specific advice. Principles help point you in the right direction but it's up to you to figure out the details in executing the solution.
Since every single person's situation is different, think of principles as a blueprint for solving a fairly common problem. An effective mindset for turning a principle into action is to ask yourself "how can I make this idea work for me?" instead of thinking "this can't work for me because I'm different." Effectively implementing a principle will require some creativity, ingenious thinking, and trial and error on your part.
